SAFARI ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Welcome to Tanzania! Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you’ll be warmly received by your Buluma Adventures guide. A short transfer will take you to your accommodation in Arusha. Take the rest of the day to relax and recover from your journey, or explore the vibrant town of Arusha. Your guide will brief you on the thrilling adventure ahead.

Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park, known for its breathtaking landscapes dotted with ancient baobab trees and large elephant herds. Enjoy a full day of game drives, where you might spot lions, leopards, and a variety of bird species. A picnic lunch within the park will enhance your experience of this stunning environment.

Day 3: Tarangire to Lake Manyara National Park

Leave Tarangire behind and head to Lake Manyara National Park, a picturesque destination nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Known for its tree-climbing lions, pink flamingos, and diverse birdlife, Lake Manyara offers a unique safari experience. Spend the day exploring the park’s varied ecosystems, from dense woodlands to the tranquil lakeshore.

Day 4: Lake Manyara to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, journey onward to Serengeti National Park. En route, pass through traditional Maasai villages and take in the ever-changing landscapes of Tanzania. Upon arrival in Serengeti, enjoy an afternoon game drive as you make your way to your accommodation. Serengeti, with its vast plains and incredible wildlife, promises an unforgettable safari experience.

Day 5: Full Day in Serengeti National Park

Spend the entire day exploring the iconic Serengeti National Park. With morning and afternoon game drives, you’ll have ample opportunity to witness the diverse wildlife, including the Big Five, cheetahs, giraffes, and large herds of wildebeest and zebras. Optionally, start your day with a hot air balloon safari for an awe-inspiring aerial view of the plains (available at additional cost).

Day 6: Full Day in Serengeti National Park

Continue your adventure with another full day in the Serengeti. Explore different regions of the park and experience the raw beauty of the savannah. Between game drives, relax at your camp and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The Serengeti’s rich biodiversity and expansive landscapes offer endless opportunities for exploration.

Day 7: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Along the way, enjoy the diverse landscapes and possibly visit a Maasai village. Arrive at your lodge on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater in the afternoon, where you can relax and take in the breathtaking views of the crater below.

Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha

On your final day, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, often referred to as the “Eighth Wonder of the World.” The crater’s unique ecosystem is home to an incredible concentration of wildlife, including the Big Five, hippos, and flamingos. After a memorable morning of game viewing, enjoy a picnic lunch on the crater floor. In the afternoon, ascend the crater and journey back to Arusha. Upon arrival, you’ll be dropped off at your hotel or transferred to the airport for your onward journey.
